This is a very rough sketch of the "Ain Sakhri lovers" figurine, as housed in the British Museum. I've been listening to the BBC podcast series "A History of the World in 100 Objects". This stone object is no. 7 in the series and it's reckoned to date from approx 9,000 BC. It's regarded as one of the earliest known depictions of human sex.
