Is their a way to find if sex offenders live next to you?

I am thinking about moving to a house that has potential but the neighbers houses are cluttered with junk everywhere and some of the tenants look really rough. I want to make sure Im not putting my children at risk. So I ask you guys is there a way to find out if the tenants who are listed there have a crimal background or sex offences?

why in the world would I be considered shallow? For your information once a sex offender always a sex offender. If a sicko rapes a child, i'm sorry but they are more than likely to commit it again. I'm not wrong for wanting to know whos in the neighborhood before moving there. Its pure ignorance that keeps sex offenders around.

yes...Dr. Phil showed it on his show once...i think you should go to his site www.drphil.com and see if he posted it on there....it was shown on computer, you could type your address in and they will show you how many sex offenders are in your area and how close their houses are to you...hope this helps!
