How often must a man and woman have sex when trying to have children?

When 2 people who are trying to have kids and one is in their earlier 40s and early 30s what can be the problem when conception does not happen even after having sex once or twice a week?

Despite what many people think, getting pregnant is not an easy task, especially if you are older. There is only a 48 hour window when the egg can be fertilized. Try tracking her basal temperature as it will tell you when she is ovulating. Hope that helps!
